Michael J Buxton, a native of Vermont currently residing in Rutland, was born with an inherent sense of adventure. His desire to explore the world and experience its vastness has always fueled his spirit. About eight years ago, while searching for inspirational videos on hiking the Appalachian Trail, Michael stumbled upon YouTube and found himself captivated by thru-hikers' stories. Though he never embarked on the Appalachian Trail, the idea of challenging himself in the great outdoors stuck with him.
For the past five years, Michael meticulously planned a fatbiking trip, seeking a transformative change in his life and a chance to discover the wonders this country has to offer. Recently, he took the plunge and acquired his trusted bike, ready to venture beyond his comfort zone and embrace the unknown.
"I've always yearned to explore the West, and now, more than ever, it feels like the perfect time to traverse the country on two wheels. Can you imagine embarking on this journey with a motor, burdened by the expenses of gasoline?" he muses.
Now embarking on this adventure solo, Michael embraces each encounter with people and businesses along the way. He finds immense joy in this expedition and remains resolute in his determination to conquer all 48 states. With his gear in tow and his trusted companion "NightRider" guiding him, he traverses the breathtaking landscapes of this beautiful nation, one state at a time.
